The community of Camden is mourning the tragic loss of Luis J. Bonet, 24, who died after a shooting in the early hours of June 9, 2026.
According to officials, the incident began at approximately 12:23 a.m. when officers with the Camden County Police Department responded to the 200 block of Morse Street following a ShotSpotter alert indicating possible gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, officers located Bonet suffering from gunshot wounds near Baird Boulevard and Boyd Street.
Emergency responders transported him to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition. Despite extensive efforts by medical personnel, he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
